A Sunday buggy ride to the wharf in the watering places was probably one of the first opportunities for most eastern Quebecers to take in the reality of tourism and summer holidaying. The wharfs where passengers landed were wonderful places to watch the summer people and their staff (nannies, maids, drivers, etc.) and see how they dressed and what baggage they brought along. But this time around, it’s the observer being observed!
